Joe Budden came under fire yesterday (5/17) after podcast host and DJ Olivia Dope accused him of sexually harassing her during a recording of See, The Thing Is, the podcast she previously hosted on Budden’s network.
In a statement to the Rolling Stone, Budden says, “I apologize sincerely to Olivia, her former co-hosts, our staff, and the public. In an effort to not further any trauma, the episode will be removed from all platforms.” He added, “We support all women’s rights to feel comfortable and protected in the workplace. We fell short of that in this instance.”
Here’s the video Olivia released yesterday breaking down her allegations against Budden:
Budden’s statement ultimately wished Olivia nothing but the best as he showed his support for her healing process. “I am taking the time to listen and learn; we have already begun to make the necessary changes to ensure this is a safe environment for all moving forward,” he wrote. “We at the network endeavor to continue to elevate Black women’s voices and create opportunities to have constructive conversations to impact change.”
