2 Chainz Discusses His BET Hip Hop Cypher Experience

The 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards tonight and some of us are excited to see how this is going to play out for the new artist who are nominated and the legends who are still relevant. Social distancing has caused a lot of cancellations and delays with artist tour schedules. Some even took to doing shows virtually. But, we all know the energy thats felt is a lot different when it comes to live shows.
Speaking of seasoned vets, 2 Chainz chats virtually with ET’s Melicia Johnson to give us a front seat experience in his journey to the cypher. He talks about how free styling is a great art form and he takes his hat off to the guys that do it on the spot.
2 Chainz talks about still being signed to DTP and how Ludacris contacted him the day of the recording for cypher and told him to be at the jet in a few hours. He also gets into his style, music and fashion why he’s “different”.
Well tonight a lot of the new artist are taking to the BET Hip Hop Awards stage for the first time. Artist like Big Sean, City Girls, Mulatto, Tobe Nwigwe and more… Now, what I’m super excited about is H.E.R and Teyanan Taylor being apart of the cypher this year. I love to see those sisters in their element.
After weeks of anticipation Roddy Rich and Da Baby still lead the pack with 22 nominations collectively. “I Am Hip Hop Honoree” Master P is said to make an appearance as well. I’m looking forward to the gems that he’s going to drop.
