Nicki Minaj Earns Diamond Plaque for ‘Super Bass’

Congratulations are in order for Nicki Minaj. Arguably her biggest single to date, “Super Bass,” has officially gone Diamond!
For those who don’t know, a Diamond certification means the song moved a total of 10 million units. Very few rappers have been able to achieve this feat making this accomplishment for Nicki even more impressive. In a post on IG, she thanked a handful of folks including Young Money/Cash Money, Taylor Swift, and of course the Barbz.
Nicki also pointed out that this song came out before the streaming era, which is worth noting. “This one was released b4 the streaming era, so millions of fans actually purchased the song,” Nicki wrote. “I’m so grateful for you guys. Sending love & blessings your way.”
Earlier this year, Cardi B became the first female rapper to go Diamond with her hit single “Bodak Yellow”. The women are out here crushing it per usual.
Congrats to Nicki and everyone else involved in the making of “Super Bass”. Can you believe it’s already been 10 years since this and Pink Friday dropped?!
