DTLR + Adidas Partner Up for “Music Makers” Series in D.C. + Detroit featuring DJ Quicksilva + Zaytoven

Closing out the 2023 year with a bang, we teamed up with our friends at Adidas for a unique events series deemed Music Makers. In short, we invited a group of students in Washington, D.C. and a group of students in Detroit to give them an unforgettable music-making experience with industry heavyweights. In D.C., we had DJ Quicksilva bring his “Quick & Eazy” DJ School to the Deanwood Recreation Center where the talented students learned, in just under a couple hours, how to DJ! From properly counting beats, to blending tracks and more, this group of students amazed us with their quick learning and natural talent. After the class, our hosts Kyle On The Mic and Little Bacon Bear handed out gifts to the kids as they received some holiday kicks and apparel courtesy of Adidas, as well as a meal from our friends at MLK Deli. It was truly an amazing experience!
The following week, we took our talents to Detroit and teamed up with platinum-selling, Grammy-nominated super producer Zaytoven. This edition of “Music Makers” was all about beat-making and how to construct an instrumental from scratch – something Zay has been successfully doing for almost a couple decades. The kids were eager to learn and also eager to show off their rapping skills over a beat that Zaytoven made. It was as if we were watching the future generation of rap stars in real time! The students were then surprised by Detroit Lions defensive star Josh Pascal, who came through with gifts and more. The Detroit pride could be felt the entire time and it was truly special to bring this experience to life. Thanks to our host Kenny Valentino and of course Adidas for helping make this happen!
